Need a New Dog Collar

I have asked Facebook and now I’m asking my readers.   My dog has destroyed her pale pink big box store collar, it’s not even pink anymore.

Please help me pick a new collar for my active hound…Chick.  She is a very unique dog that is very active.  I normally don’t talk about my dogs on here, but I LOVE fabric.

Check out the wonderful fabric selections you can get on these dog collars.  As I was searching Etsy I found some of my favorite fabrics as I was searching…Amy Butler, Moda, Michael Miller, Andover.  Tonight I made a Treasury on Etsy to showcase a few of the collars I liked.  Comment on here or on Etsy with your favorite.  I will make my selection on Friday.

Let’s support some artists/craftsmen and get Chick something awesome.

Loving the water.

She did not want to get out of the water.

Another Milestone Coming Up

100 posts is just around the corner.  Wonder what I will write about?

There is a quite a bit going on in my sewing world right now.  Biggest news….my stuff was recognized by someone on another blog and they had nice things to say.  Another blog would like for me to use my items for a giveaway.

I am also gearing up for my first craft show in October.  I’m hoping this smaller one will help me get prepared for the bigger shows I want to be apart of next year.  I have already started working on my goals for 2011 and they are big.

Back to sewing and creating.

New Design Trends

Last week I went to go get my hair cut and while I was waiting for my wonderful stylist I noticed a design magazine.  Normally, I do not read this genre of magazines.  I gave it a try and was pleasantly surprised.

The pictures were bright, detailed, and inspirational.  So what are the new trends?  Here is what I noted:

  • Gingham in both large & small prints
  • Yellow…more specifically a gold color
  • Scallop detail
  • Natural details as in stone colors
  • White as a crisp clean accent color
  • Curves, circles, rounded items
  • Pleats (my favorite)

I’m hoping to try and incorporate some of these into my next few projects.  It was a great inspiration and I need to get my hands on some more.  The picture below is my best google search attempt to throw most of the list above in a photo.

News Thread 8.2

Wow, where has the year gone?  It’s August already.

This whole new work schedule is great for me to sew in the mornings and get my creative energy out.  Unfortunately, I haven’t had much time to write here.  Not too much different going on in the sewing room.  I did take some time yesterday to clean it up and get more organized.

Here is the latest fabric that has inspired me.  I picked it during my trip to NYC.

My design wall has a completed top on it.  Now I just need to find a great backing fabric.  The top is Moda Eva and there are still some stores that sell it.  Not sure what color I want to focus on out of green, purple, or pink.  I’m leaning towards pink and green thread during the quilting.
