February Goal – WIP Busting

In the meager attempts I make at organization in my sewing space, one thing is very apparent.  There are a number of WIPs sitting in bags that are almost done.  Currently those bags are stored in a cabinet that I can shut the door on.  A Lovely Year of Finishes is just what I need to help get my butt in gear and FINISH those projects.

This morning I randomly selected one to work on for February.  Anyone remember the Jay McCaroll Habitat challenge with the Modern Quilt Guild like 4 years ago?  Yeah, never got around to finishing up that quilt.

habitat project The fabric just didn’t speak to me but of course I just had to participate, because everyone was doing it.  Quilting peer pressure.

Let’s take a look to what I have so far.

habitat project quiltThere are 30 blocks here started, enough to whip up a baby quilt.  There will be lots of white space in this quilt.

My goal for February is to piece this top and get it quilted.  I already have backing fabric picked out and in the bag pictured above, plus enough for binding.

Off to go cut some white strips and not waste anymore time on this quilt.  #sewmystash2015.  Linking up to ALYOF below.
