What? You didn’t think I would actually go there? I did. You can thank me later when the song is still stuck in your head.
The backing fabric was the inspiration for this quilt. My friend Emma and I had bought this fabric together a while back for our business, but it didn’t get used. Since the baby quilt was for her soon to arrive son, I knew this had to be used, she adored this fabric.
This was not my first idea for her son’s quilt. I had grand plans with the QuiltCon Michael Miller Challenge. Maybe life or laziness got in the way of making my initial thought. It’s probably best I went this route because my original design may have been a complete fail. Some day I will make that quilt and share with you. However, I’m going to need to stock up on wine and guts to make it happen.
Back to this adorable quilt. The baby’s nursery has a great minimal design with triangles on the wall. I knew the binding had to be this triangle fabric sitting in my stash. I had the backing and binding, but what about the front?
Let’s make a fox and keep it simple.
Quilting was kept as straight lines, but started as a square on the upper right. Can you see it below?
Adorable right? Well Emma loves it, the baby is either way on it.
Very fitting quilt from the Fall Baby Shower I wrote about months ago.

Ding ding ding ding, what does the fox say?
