Michael Miller Fabrics

Michael Miller is a great fabric line with funky novelty prints and bold colors.  Here are some of the fabrics that I would love to add to stash right now:

Brady Bunch

All of the fabric is named after a character on the show.  Very clever.  I love the retro feel, bright and updated colors.  There is another great plaid in this collection.  My favorite is Cindy.

The Peter stripe is also nice

Honey Bee

Great blend of orange, green, yellow and brown.  Reminds me of fall without screaming seasonal.  Garden Honey Meadow is my favorite.

As for the free patterns that Michael Miller is offering, I may have found a way to work through my stash.  The Daisy Doodle and Modern Flora are my favorites they have available right now.  Stash busting, here I come.

A Finish Finally

Groovy Girl's Quilt

Well I had this quilt completed yesterday, but had to take photos today.  I have been trying to stash bust and this is the start of some 24 projects that I found.  OH Man am I going to be busy.  More great things to share.

I’m working on a Quilts for Kids completion to get mailed out on Saturday.  The top has taken no time, just need to get it finished then basted.

Also on tap is a baby quilt for a friend Ashley.  I’m afraid Lily might be here before I get it completed, that is my fault though.

On the desing wall is a Moda Eva quilt.  I need to go searching for green, pink and purple veragated thread.

News Thread 6.24

This week has been a complete whirlwind.  My mom underwent major surgery on Monday and it took longer than anticipated.  We received a diagnosis we didn’t want, but will get through.  After a long day and a few stiff drinks I finally passed out.  We have had nasty storms come through over the last few days.  The woke me up with a wonderful light show at 3:30 am.

Tuesday was a long day at the hospital visiting Mom all day.  Luckily I could go home and rest.  Sewing mania began after that.

Everyday this week I have woke up and started sewing.  What a wonderful feeling to be productive early in the am.  Today I even managed to get some stuff on Etsy.

Lots more to come though, big announcements possibly.  NO BABIES, just other stuff.

Things I’m working on:

  • Girly quilt as a custom order on Etsy
  • More potholders, starting my Christmas/Holiday versions soon
  • Yo-Yos for holiday gifts, these kept me sane on Monday.
  • Groovy flower quilt for Etsy.  Stash buster!!

Have a great creative week.  Check back next week for some news, hopefully!

New Fabrics from Timeless Treasures

The groundhog saw his shadow yesterday, yuck.  I do know a few people that threaten to drive to PA and beat up poor Phil for his prediction.  The skies have been very gray for the last two weeks.  Makes me wonder why I left Florida again?  Just kidding.  I LOVE Indy and being back.

For today’s inspiration I went wondering around on fabric manufacturer’s Web sites.  I wanted to see how I could get myself into trouble with shopping.  Timeless Treasures has a lot of new fabrics out for spring.  I think the cold dreary weather is drawing me to the bright spring colors.  Here are the collections that I liked the best…so far.  There is no stash busting going on here.

Strawberry Field by Alice Kennedy.  My favorite is the blended print fabric.  These have to be in my stash. For what project, I’m not sure.

The other line that caught my eye was Lily by Alice Kennedy.  It has a great blend of pink, green and black.  These are bolder hues and not delicate springy colors.  A fat quarter collection of this collection wouldn’t be the worse thing.  These are great accent pieces for any project, don’t know that I would use them as a project as a group.

The Strawberry Field line reminds me of the Hoffman Color Splash line that I talked about a couple of months ago.  Very interesting, could just be a “Spring” trend.
