More baby quilts – June Challenge

This quilt has been a work in progress for some time.  With the Indy Modern Quilt Guild’s June finish challenge, I thought this would be perfect.  The top and back were done a bit ago, but the back wasn’t big enough.  So I cut it in half and added the white stripe, nice touch. I am loving how the close quilting turned out.

The finished turned into a quilt for a friend’s baby shower.

2011 Project Week 2

Yes, I am behind, but Week 3 will be out by this Friday.  For these next two blocks, time to go into my stash of tools that are very rarely used.  A couple of years ago I added the Tri-Recs tool to my arsenal.  Challenge of two different triangles that work together.  Last week my points were okay.  After making this block, I know I have lots of work to do to match up points. Moda Eva

Moda Eva is one of my favorite fabric lines.  It’s girly and offers great shades of purple, green, and pink.  Paisley, swirls, peacocks, polka dots, circles, and vines.

I’ve made potholders and quilts from this great line.

On the quilt I was really unsure what to do with it.  Took a few different layouts on the design wall.  The best layout is variegating the fabric from darkest to lightest.  I think it turned out pretty well.
