Indy Modern Quilt Guild Retreat 2012

First I have to say THANK YOU to Lindsay from Lindsaysews.com for all of her hard work putting this retreat together.  It was a blast and I walked away refreshed with projects almost complete.

We played a game with three fat quarters with tiles L,C,R for left, center and right.  The game was great because you couldn’t really cheat and it really was luck.  Jennie was our first lucky winner.

Open sew started the machines were zooming all night.  It was wonderful to sew, talk, learn, and get to know everyone better.

I worked on a couple of different projects that have been on my list for a bit.  Hopefully over the next few weeks they will go on the design wall, then machine and be ready for a new home

Each of us walked away with great giveaways as well.  We really had some wonderful sponsors.  Can’t wait to use my goodies.

Congrats!!

Sorry the delay in posting the winner of my fat quarter Father’s Day giveaway.  My mom had surgery yesterday and it took longer than we expected.  My coworkers chose this winner:

Gearing Up

I spent my half day off yesterday sewing.  It was MARVELOUS.  Overall, I got a quilt pressed, pinned and 3/4 of the way quilted.  Now I just need about an hour to finish the quilting, trim, and get the binding on.  Woohoo.  New Etsy listing for me.

This week and I have been drooling over new fabrics.  No really, I spend time at my grown up job looking at manufacturer’s Web sites.  My coworkers say I should just sell fabric.  I would LOVE to, no clue how to do that though.  Any advice would be awesome.

Back on topic…next week is Fat Quarter Frenzy at Quilts Plus.  I have been waiting for this for a month.  I stopped in this week to pick up the backing to a quilt and was asking about it.  Turns out they have TUBS of fabric ready for next week.  I’m so excited that I’m taking a long lunch next Friday to enjoy.  Never know…maybe some of those fat quarters will end up as a give away on here. 

I have tried to be good and not purchase any new fabric so I can shop this sale.  I don’t normally like fat quarters, but they do come in handy.  Plus they’re going to be much cheaper than normal. 

So if you’re in the area, join me.
