Weekend Preview

We are camping this weekend and I couldn’t be more excited.  Limited phone and internet access.  Time to recharge and create new designs.  Since I can’t bring my machine, I will be hand sewing instead.  I’m working on ornaments for Christmas already.

As I am going over my list of things to pack and of course procrastinating, I found this cute treasury about camping.

Too cute.  Hopefully there are pictures of my ziplining, something I have never done.  Plus heights and I do not get along, this should be fun.  (insert terrified face here)

There has been lots going on in the sewing room.  Look for more posts this weekend.

Christmas Gift 2010

Christmas has come and gone.  What is your reflection of this year?  Mine was very different from the past years.  The husband and I agreed to no gifts especially since we just did the cruise.  Our friends adopted a family from the United Christmas Service here in Indianapolis.  We offered to help them adopt this family and were assigned to the 4 year old boy.  Toys, clothes, and shoes were on his wish list.  I had to keep the hubby out of the toy section.  Feedback from our friend says they were very grateful for the gifts.   Looking forward to doing this again. (more…)

Merry Christmas

This is a very laid back Holiday around our house this year.  The cruise was our gift to each other.  Small gift to brother & parental in-laws.  We are enjoying the afternoon with my family and maybe some friends in the evening.  I hope you enjoy your day and time with those you love.

I’m working on stuff for next year’s Holiday season already.  Here’s to hoping the holiday season extends past December.

Another Favorite Fabric Designer

Last fall I was obsessed with the Gobble Gobble line.  It was adorable and didn’t scream THANKSGIVING!!!  It is a great fall line with strong colors and details with the option of traditional fall decor.  Thank you Sandy Gervais

Well, she did not disappoint again this year.  For your Thanksgiving feast you can incorporate her line Awesome into your holiday buffet.  It is very similar to Gobble Gobble with a few tweaks for a fresh updated look.  Considering I bought all the of the Gobble Gobble charm packs I could, I expect to do the same with Awesome.  Fat Quarter Shop, can you run a special on them??

Ring in the Holiday season with the blend of Adoring fabrics.  I love that Sandy took traditional red and green and added in cream and blues for accents.  The fabrics are not overly Christmas, but suttle enough to be left out slightly after the Holiday has passed.  Too bad I don’t have a dining room table or else this line would be used for a cute tablerunner.

July is seriously starting this week, leaving only a few months to get the Christmas and Holiday projects complete.  Time to get busy and shopping.  Thanks again Sandy Gervais for creating wonderful lines that could be used outside of the Holiday season.

News Thread 6.24

This week has been a complete whirlwind.  My mom underwent major surgery on Monday and it took longer than anticipated.  We received a diagnosis we didn’t want, but will get through.  After a long day and a few stiff drinks I finally passed out.  We have had nasty storms come through over the last few days.  The woke me up with a wonderful light show at 3:30 am.

Tuesday was a long day at the hospital visiting Mom all day.  Luckily I could go home and rest.  Sewing mania began after that.

Everyday this week I have woke up and started sewing.  What a wonderful feeling to be productive early in the am.  Today I even managed to get some stuff on Etsy.

Lots more to come though, big announcements possibly.  NO BABIES, just other stuff.

Things I’m working on:

  • Girly quilt as a custom order on Etsy
  • More potholders, starting my Christmas/Holiday versions soon
  • Yo-Yos for holiday gifts, these kept me sane on Monday.
  • Groovy flower quilt for Etsy.  Stash buster!!

Have a great creative week.  Check back next week for some news, hopefully!
