So Many T-shirt Quilts

Not really so many, but two.  Two that I haven’t been focused on until recently.  Deadline is November 1st, I’m ready to get onto new projects.

First up is a Delta Zeta quilt.  This quilt is HUGE, the biggest quilt I have ever made.  Take that wedding quilt.  For the layout of the strips I had to move everything out of my dining room.

Quilting required quite a bit of arm strength and clever maneuvering around the machine, me, and the table.

All straight lines in the black borders.  Some in black and some in various colors.  The inspiration was this quilt.

For my own sanity I wanted to prevent so many thick seams and opted to add the strips of color with thread.  Crazy?  Maybe but I think overall it works.

The second quilt is for a friend and all her running shirts from a couple of years.  I was surprised by how easily the performance fabrics adhered to the interfacing.  This is still a work in progress.
