Your input helped

I loved all the of the feedback that I received about the customized local potholders.  After considering everyone’s feedback I am going to do both.  I am right now working on Indy ones to have going in the shop next week.

Basically, I am open to lots of customized work.  Can’t wait to see what I get to create.

Two random numbers chosen by my husband this morning is #4 and #9.

Now off to Saratoga to bet on some horses and of course SEW!

I need your feedback – contest

Designs and new ideas are constantly being thrown around in the sewing room.  For a while now I wanted to create something that had a local flare.  I have made two designs that I am equally partial to, airport codes and city nicknames. Each set is hand embroidered then machine quilted.

So readers, I need your help.  Please comment below on your favorite design.  I will pick two winners and send them a custom local set of potholders.  Winners will be chosen at random on Saturday July 30th.

The week of two quilts completed…part 1

Last week was quite a success in the sewing room.  There were two quilts that I wanted to get done and one may actually stay with me, a FIRST.

Paris

One the recepients of the Mother’s Day quilts wanted to pass along the same idea to one of her friends.  She too had lost her mom and was missing her.  Her mother had always had a thing for Paris.  I knew the fabric line I wanted to use was Lumiere de Noel from Moda.  The colors are vibrant and subtle at the same time.  I used my standby disappearing nine patch pattern.  In each row strips of blue were added in to give some more color.

Quilty has gone GREEN!

A big thank you goes out to Indianapolis Power & Light for offering the option to put your home on 25%,50%, or 100% green renewable resources.  I had been hesitant since there is a fee attached with the program.

Well we have been on 25% for a few months and have seen minimal increase to the overall bill.

So today I took the leap and but the entire house on 100% green renewable energy resources.  For my customers, that means that all of my products made from here on out are made using more green energy.  I think that’s a great way to give back.

More baby quilts – June Challenge

This quilt has been a work in progress for some time.  With the Indy Modern Quilt Guild’s June finish challenge, I thought this would be perfect.  The top and back were done a bit ago, but the back wasn’t big enough.  So I cut it in half and added the white stripe, nice touch. I am loving how the close quilting turned out.

The finished turned into a quilt for a friend’s baby shower.
