Hello Luscious Quilt

Welcome back.  Did you spend anytime outside this weekend?  My family did, it was gorgeous.  While my plan was to have this quilt finished today, mother nature’s beauty provided a much needed distraction.  My husband had been traveling over the week last pretty heavily.  It was just me and the toddler most of the week, leaving me little time or energy to actually sew and quilt after bed time.  Toddlers are exhausting!

For this quilt I found the remaining Hello Luscious jelly roll buried in my stash for a subway tile quilt that never happened.  In an effort to use stash fabrics and highlight the bolder colors of this line, I chose a gray to coordinate.  This gray was all stash and scraps I found in that giant black bag of scraps that I still haven’t tackled.

From the remaining strips, I cut 5″ rectangles.  Then subcut to 2.5″ squares.  After cutting the squares were sorted into their colors:  green, blue, red, pink and white.

Design for this quilt was kept easy.  I have great plans for the quilting.

Are you ready?  I’m not doing straight lines.  This took a while to mark and I can’t wait to see how it turns out.

Instagram got a sneak peek of my quilting this morning.  Wordpress and I were not getting along for the last couple of days.

Time for me to head back to the machine and finish my quilting.  It’s been quite the arm workout moving it around.
