Christmas Ornament Swap

Well the Christmas tree is still in one piece at our house.  We have remembered to water it and the dogs haven’t tried to eat it.  So far it’s a success.

The tree doesn’t have a ton of ornaments…yet.  Every year the Indianapolis Modern Quilt Guild does an ornament exchange with our Holiday meeting.  I had poured over Pinterest and the internet to get some inspiration.  I found this tutorial that was more what I was looking for.

I found these vintage thread spools in my collection and thought they would be a great start.  vintage thread spools

From my holiday potholders there were plenty of Blend Tinsel’s fabric left.  The colors in the prints coordinated pretty well the colors on the spools.

Here are the ornaments I took with me to the swap.  handmade christmas ornamentMeghan over at Calvin & Carolyn received my ornament.  I hope she doesn’t get mad at me for posting her picture.
