Blogger’s Quilt Festival – Kona Solids Quilt

How do you take two opposing color schemes and blend them together?  Careful selection of the colors and placement.  Any other way Hello Kitty and Chicago Bears clash.  Don’t believe me, check out the back of this quilt below.
This wedding quilt is made from all Kona solids half square triangles.  Pomegranate, Nautical, White, Black, Ash, and Kumquat were the selected colors.  A collaboration with my husband made this quilt possible.  He helped with the pressing and backing selection.  Poor guy had to go to Jo-Ann’s by himself.

kaplan wedding quiltBrittany loves it, no real response from the groom.  Many pictures have been shared of them snuggled under it on there couch, so I will take that as a success.  Either way hubby and I wish them many years of happiness and sitting.
